Bell Architects are a contemporary firm of Architects and designers, actively engaged in the application of sustainable design and technology, to modern Architecture. We are involved in all sectors from commercial to residential, and community to retail environments. We have extensive experience with the use of eco-technologies, and are able to apply that knowledge-base into energy saving solutions without becoming distracted by the latest gadgets. Our eco-friendly approach would be best described using the mantra ‘local need, local solution’, i.e. we will endeavour to find a solution that fits with the specifics of the site, rather than simply respond to the latest trend. The practice draws on a wealth of experience in residential housing, commercial and ecclesiastical design for new build, restoration and refurbishment to produce creative, inspiring designs with a sustainable approach. Our main office is situated in Ballymoney, and our further satellite office is in Holywood, in Northern Irelands first ‘passive house’, the Green house, which was recently completed by Sky Developments. The Green House was shortlisted in the 2009 RTPI awards for best sustainable project.
